A strong decoction or infusion of the herb is in common use. Some prefer a syrup made thus:
Put into the oven a jar of Tansy, just covered with water. Bake it an hour or two; add a pint of GIN to the strained liquid, sweeten it, cork it in bottles. Half a wine glass to be taken two to three times a day.
